It's time to see The Bicycle Thief again, Vittorio De Sica's classic film from 1949---making 2009 the movie's 60th anniversary. The movie won an Academy Award for Outstanding Foreign Language Film in 1949. Powerful, emotional, bare bones black and white cinema.
